A Magical Entry

When my daughter got married we wanted to give her the world…the problem…the world costs more money than we had, so once again we had to get creative.

The entrance to her wedding reception was a long walkway over water. It was beautiful…but we aren’t the kind of people who can just keep things the way they are…

We went to the hardware store and bought a  canvas drop cloth for about $20.00

We then took some latex paint out of our large supply of paint and covered it with about three coats with a roller.

Oh …I forgot…we ironed down the edges…turning them back about an inch.

Then my crafty daughter printed out their names and made a large stencil. She didn’t really stencil the names because we wanted a crisper look …but she used the stencil to trace the names on to the drop cloth and then used a small paint brush and some craft paint to work her magic.

To finish it off we added grommets to the corners so we could tie them to the posts and it would not blow away in the wind.

Add some candles in some jars and a few rose pedals and you have one surprised and happy bride.
